The world is flat (世界是平的)

This is a book which Bill Gates has recommended for several times. He said that this is a book that all the employers and employees have to read.

One story in this book that impressed me most is

"When I was a child, parents always told me to eat all of the rice in the bowl because the children in China and India don't have enough food. However, now the situation is changed. I tell my daughter to study hard because the children in China and India are waiting for robbing your working opportunity."

In chapter two, it introduces the top 10 bulldozers to flat the world. (Top 10 innovations to change the world)

1. 11/9/89 (The date of Berlin wall collapsed)
It changed the balance of power and led the world to tend to democracy and liberty.

2. 8/9/95 (The date of Netscape launched)
The fisrt browser launched before Microsoft explorer. This innovation connected different computers and people can share information to anyone's computer. The internet linkage brought countless business opportunities.

3. Work Flow Software (工作流軟體)
Standard procedures not only smooth many different work tables, but also can divide a big procedure into several small pack and send them to different places in the world to complete.

4. Open-Sourcing (資源開放)
The most famuos example is Wikipedia. This free online encyclopaedia is edited by world enthusiastic people so that it has collected over hundred thousands items and had dozens of language versions.

Dinner Party

She is my classmate in my korean class and is also the leader in my class. She can speak Japanese and French and now she is learning korean. So great. She organized the first party for us and we all have a lot of fun. She is a great drinker and I found I am not too bad when I compared with her. I think that is because I was trained well when I was in Canada.

More BRICs out there(金磚不只四國)

In 2003, Goldman Sachs(高盛證券)published the report no.99 to draw world's attention to BRICs. BRICs are Brazil, Russia, India and China. The BRICs became the heaven of making money. Last year, Goldman Sachs continued publishing report no. 134. It revealed the following countries after BRICs thata are Maxico, South Korea, Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, Nigeria, Bulgaria, Vietnam, Philippines, Iran, Banglades. Even though they are all called "Next 11", each country has its own limitation in economic, political, social aspects. They must have different development traits. Recently the new market in east Europe is very popular to invest. I also have caught the upsurge. In order not to make the same mistakes as before, I have to put an eye on those countries' further development carefully.

Mini's baby

My ESL teacher,Mini, in Trend College has delivered a boy bady. Olive sent me the pictures to me.

Mini is one of my favorite teachers. I remembered we had two school activities in her house. Her house is three floors with a big yard. Nice place to stay. One is BBQ, and another one is snowshoing. It was my first time to try snowshoing and it made me pretty tired. After that, we went back to Mini's house and celebrated 2005 Christmas with teachers and classmates. Great memories.

She is my ELS teacher, Mini.

Mini's baby. His name is Yoshua.
